Adult ADHD
Understanding the condition
Adult ADHD is not diagnosed through one online test. Dr. Sridhar reviews the person’s childhood pattern, education, work, relationships, sleep, mood and day-to-day functioning before making a diagnosis.
The assessment explores whether attention and organisation difficulties were present earlier in life and occur in different settings. Work, study, relationships, sleep, mood and other explanations are considered together.
When an assessment may help
Consider an assessment when a long-standing pattern of inattention, impulsivity or disorganisation interferes with responsibilities. Occasional distraction alone does not establish ADHD.
Chronic difficulty starting or finishing tasks
Frequent forgetfulness, missed deadlines or lost items
Restlessness, impulsive decisions or interrupting
Time-management and organisation problems
A similar pattern present since childhood or adolescence
